Maciej Aleksander Bierut had his breakthrough with a self-produced feature documentary premiering at Millennium Docs Against Gravity. Since then, he has worked on a wide range of projects, consistently refusing to limit himself to any particular genre.

 

His portfolio includes short films, documentaries, music videos, and live show productions. Most recently, he also served as the artistic director for Kasia Lins’ album inspired by the work of Grzegorz Ciechowski, which won three Fryderyk Awards.

For his work, Maciej has received numerous accolades, including the Fryderyk Award and the Grand Prix at the PL Music Video Awards, as well as recognition from prestigious festivals such as Camerimage, Portland Film Festival, Polish Film Awards, and Berlin Music Video Awards, among many others.

Maciej works not only as a writer-director but also as an editor, with ambitions to take on more projects as a producer. Currently, he is developing his feature-length debut as well as his upcoming film Mr. Drums, starring Tomasz Kot.
